ME: I love you.
ANDREA: I’m hungry. I mean, I love you too.

And then Andrea proceeded to eat all the snacks in my room and steal my chai latte and run all over Merion with me chasing after like she had stolen my firstborn.

So, a man just asked me for directions to a sushi restaurant on the basis that I “looked Asian” and therefore “would know” which I take issues with. (This took place in the children’s section of my local library.)

… I gave him directions to Dunkin Donuts.

This reminds me of an incident that happened in August 2007 (which I wrote down and sent to all my friends):

So, today was my first day volunteering at the library, right?

A FORTY YEAR OLD MAN CARRYING AN EMPTY PIZZA BOX ASKED ME OUT.

AFTER I STARED AT HIM AND WENT “… ajlfsjlfsjlss no.”

HE SAID, “ARE YOU SURE?”

AND I WAS LIKE “YES”.

THEN I WALKED AWAY, QUICKLY.

LATER I SAW HIM AGAIN WHILE I WAS SHELVING THINGS.

THEN WHEN I WAS THE CIRCULATION DESK, HE KEPT STARING AT ME WHILE HE WAS IN LINE.

I’m sort of creeped out.

So yeah, still attracting the crazies.

ME: … Wait, are you breaking up with me over Facebook?
ANDREA: I’m simplifying my life.
ME: … NOT EVEN THROUGH A TEXT MESSAGE, OVER FACEBOOK?
ANDREA: Well…
ME: … I’m breaking up with you first! *pause* See, I AM NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU ANYMORE.
ANDREA: My facebook profile is now so much less cluttered! … But you will never be clutter to me, Stacy.
ME: … Stop molesting my ankle. I think it’s clear that I am clutter to you because you wanted to break up with me over Facebook. BUT I STILL BROKE UP WITH YOU FIRST SO HAH.
ANDREA: I have class now. Bye wifey.
ME: NOT ANYMORE. SINCE I BROKE UP WITH YOU.

Yeah, Andy and I are hetero-life partners (in a romantic, straight, completely unaroused fashion). Also, I am as passive-aggressive as Helga G. Pataki in “April Fool’s Day” and I’m all right with that.

The subject title is totally stolen from Mandy Moore’s I Can Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week. I’ve been a fan of hers since I was nine and am totally not ashamed of it.

I have three group projects to work on, a 15 page paper for Human Rights, finals to deal with, and reading that should somehow magically get done. Needless to say, I think Starbucks is going to become my new best friend. BUT AFTER ALL OF THIS, I WILL GO HOME. And uh, look for a summer job! … hopefully not at my parents’ restaurant because 13 hour shifts are pushing it; filial daughter or not!

On Friday, I went to see 17 Again with a bunch of awesome people. :) Truth? I don’t care if you judge me, but I loved that movie. Don’t expect a masterpiece, don’t expect it to be not unpredictable– everything you see in the trailer?–yeah, that’s pretty much what you get– but it was a perfect cure to a stressful week. Cute, funny, and sweet. Zefron is amazingly adept in acting when it’s not part of a multimillion Disney franchise.  Essentially, I felt that my $10 was well-spent and I hardly ever feel that way about movies.

On Saturday, I spent most of the day basking outside in the sun while covered in SPF 30.(Speaking of which, if anyone has a recommendation for a good SPF 30 or above with UVA and UVB protection at a reasonable price, please let me know!) It was fantastic. I finished my book for Anthro and two journal articles for my Human Rights paper. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.

Ellen, Andy, and I went to Sushi Land for dinner and spent a few hours at Borders before adjourning to my room to watch Doctor Who.  After watching Doctor Who for the first time, I’m starting to get the obsession. Also: David Tennant is beyond adorkable that I did a double-take when I wiki’d him and realized he was Barty Crouch Jr in Harry Potter. Well. That means I can feel less guilty for finding him sort of attractive in Goblet of Fire.

So, the Bryn Mawr prospies I’ve met thus far have been incredibly adorable; my friend Melody being one of them.
This makes me happy because I hope the class of 2013 will be amazingly kickass and just as enthusiastic about Bryn Mawr as 2012 is if not even more.

1. OLIVIA’s new SAILING FREE single. I’ve been listening to it via streaming on Anna et Olivia and they sound excellent. “Undress” sounds very western pop; the guitar and melody sounds so familiar that I feel like I’ve heard it before. Also, Sailing Free has the best PV to date (OLIVIA! As a pirate! Fighting off an octopus with a mop!! I can even forgive her hair in this one). Also, the CD cover is beautiful– I’ll definitely buy it when I have the money.

2. Room draw! Andrea and I both managed to secure singles in Merion for next year! This is fantastic because both Mer and Britt will also be living in our haunted dorm. I’m so relieved that Andy and I managed to get into the same dorm; Andrea was the last person to draw into Merion and I think the two of us thought we’d be living in separate dorms next year. Honestly, I don’t think I could have gotten a better roommate– but we both like the idea of having some separate space sophomore year.

Not enthused about:

1. Rain. I’m contemplating building an ark. This is getting ridiculous. Also, my umbrella is missing.

2. My Human Rights paper that I should be working on right now. It makes me want to shoot myself in the face.

3. Having to wake up for a 10 AM class  after going to bed at four. I think Andrea and I personified our majors/minors sometime around 3 in the morning. It was hilarious. You know, at three in the morning.

[LATER, WHILE STACY IS TAKING HER CHINESE TAKE-HOME TEST ON HER BED]

ANDREA: I think I’m going to go buy rice pudding!
ME: Mmkay.
ANDREA: LET’S HUG!
ME: Wait–
STACY’S TEST: *gets ripped due to Andrea’s sudden presence on Stacy’s bed and Stacy’s effort to free it from being trapped under Andy’s knee*
ME: … YOU JUST BROKE MY TEST.
ANDREA: How… did that… even… happen? All three pages are torn!
ME: YOU BROKE MY TEST.
ANDREA: …Let’s find tape!

VARIOUS PEOPLE IN MERION: … You want tape for what?
ME: … :|
ANDREA: *is generally being unhelpful by laughing at me but later tapes my test together*

Also, Andrea bought me sorry fries for breaking my test so all’s well (I think). I just hope I don’t get any awkward questions tomorrow.

On the bright side: Andrea and I got up early (for us, which is before 2 PM on Sundays), had brunch, and went on a Cupcake-Finding Adventure! Unfortunately for us, the Bakery House was closed but we managed to buy cupcakes from Acme.

We’ve already finished half of them.

Om nom nom, cupcakes!

One of my dreams is to visit Magnolia Bakery and try one of their famous cupcakes.

Stacy: I just checked Facebook and someone said that a lot of people are also sick. So– Kendra’s sick, Lavanya’s sick, Amanda, Luie, Evan, Andrea was sick. That was much a roll call.

Kathryn: Susie’s in the hospital because she had a really high fever.

Stacy: *coughs*

Chelsea: Are you getting sick Stacy? :(

Stacy: Oh no, I only have a bit of a sore throat. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. I’m fine! :D

This morning:

Stacy: … I THINK SOMEONE STUCK KNIVES DOWN MY THROAT WHILST I WAS SLEEPING.

Andrea: Hmm, I feel like I have a hangover. But I feel a lot better today! :D Yay, stomach virus is gone!

Stacy: OW, TALKING HURTS.

Andrea: …

Stacy: OW, IT REALLY HURTS. I THINK I SHALL GO FIND BREAKFAST IN THE FIVE MINUTES I HAVE BEFORE CLASS.

Andrea: You go do that, Stacycakes.

I’m now deeply regretting my act of hubris as I just spent five minutes of my life trying hard not to die. I should have paid more attention in my Greek Myths CSem class. We were warned not to say stupid things like “HAHA, AT LEAST I’M NOT SICK” because Murphy’s Law would get to me if Zeus was otherwise preoccupied.

Contrary to popular belief, I have not died and passed on. At least, not physically.

I’m afraid that college and work has kept me from blogging because I barely have enough time to sleep (actually, I’ll take that back– judging by a few of the disapproving/concerned looks my profs have shot in my general reaction I haven’t had enough time to sleep!). I’m sure few people have noticed my absence and really, my life is terribly dull– you’re not missing much!

That said, I love Bryn Mawr.  I love my family. I love my friends. I love my roomie. I love my love/hate relationship with academia.  I love how in exactly 23 days I will be in China, butchering Mandarin (to a degree that will make Professor Chiang shake her head sadly at me) and looking like a very out of place next to all the ultra skinny Chinese girls in their mini-skirts.

I do not love the two weeks full of finals, presentations, and papers (oh god, all the papers*) that stand in my way.

I’m making myself a promise to start blogging again, if only because I miss having a somewhat legit excuse to procrastinate.

*Like the paper for my Asian American Communities class that I accidentally saved over with notes from my Freshman Writing class. Eight pages. Gone.  Guys, learn from my mistake– always keep a copy in Google Docs. Trust me on this one.

It was a pretty good movie, though I nearly choked when I realized that Josh Peck was Josh from Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh. He looks really different now.

2. Threadless sale! It’s now $12 opposed to $10 (dammit) but they finally reprinted Sticks of Shame after forever! I know I’m a poor college student now so I need to learn how to save money but I’ll consider this a justifiable splurge. Plus, I was known as “The Girl with the Weird/Cool Shirts” at Tri-Co. I DON’T WANT TO BE A SOCIAL OUTCAST.

3. I have a bunch of things I need to buy. Like, detergent and stuff. :| I wish I could start working already!

4. A bunch of us Tri-Co gals (see #1) are thinking of treking over to Haverford to visit people tomorrow. Should be an interesting experiment. God, I miss having Tri-Co boys around. I’m too used to having guy friends.

5. Sharing a dorm with Andrea is pretty awesome, though I know now that I need to be careful of certain things (like knocking before entering) and generally not being a complete jackass. It’s harder than it sounds, the knocking bit. My sisters and I are very big on just locking our doors whenever we’re in any room. My mom gets pissed but our parents barge in whenever the door’s unlocked and knocking is simply unheard of so right now it’s a foreign concept to me. So I’m going to re-educate myself on proper etiquette. :D
