Okay, so I’m looking over my Chinese 2nd Midterm test and noticed that my professor wrote “sorry” above one of my short (60-80 characters) answers. Upon closer inspection, I realized it was for the question “What do you look for in an ideal boyfriend/girlfriend” and I had written “我以前的男朋友對我不好,要是我新的男朋友是一個好人,最理想不濄了“(translation: my ex-boyfriend didn’t treat me very [...]

1. Why do I always leave things to the very last minute? Geology poster project, I’m looking at you. You were not nearly this intimidating last night. (… That’s what she said.)
2. One of these days, I will have a dream that does not involve academia.
I don’t know if there’s something in the water or [...]

I turned in my written exam today and slid it underneath Chiang Laoshi’s door and apparently she can’t find it.
I’m about ready to cry, guys. I thought Friday the 13th wasn’t going to affect me at all– but I WAS WRONG.
If it’s not there, then I don’t know where it is. Plain and simple. I [...]

Okay, so here’s the plan.
I’m going to hole myself in my room and NOT LEAVE1 until I finish reviewing four chapters of Geology and have memorized my Chinese monologue and all the grammar structures from the past three lessons.
Now if the people in the Common Room would suddenly develop bronchitis, my life would be complete. [...]

I’m still adjusting to Daylight Savings. I’m not used it to looking so dark so early so when I took a nap this afternoon and woke up at 5:30 PM, I nearly had a mini heart attack because I thought it was much later1.
Then I wandered into Andrea’s room looking very disheveled and uttered this [...]

I’ve decided that between my three part Chinese midterm (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and my Geo test (Wednesday) I am not going to have a social life this week.

Good Things

I find it somewhat distressing/hilarious that my midterm is over and I’m still dreaming about fossil hominins1.
No, really.
My subconscious has decided its a riot and the best way for me to declare a major in Anthropology (at Bryn Mawr) is reverse psychology. I’m now leaning towards East Asian Studies, thanks.
At least they’re not the skullcap [...]

Last minute cramming.
I’m looking over my notes in class and felt this overwhelming urge to bang my head against the nearest hard surface.
Let me copy and paste my notes for your viewing pleasure/horror.
Differences between Early Homo and Homo Sapiens
1) we have chins!
2) our bipedality is better than their bipedality
3) we have flaring pelvises!
4) we have [...]

I have reached the point in my ’study for anthro midterm’ panic where if my crush, Wang Leehom, and Sam Seaborn1 all showed up at my door for naked fun time, I would say no, slam the door, and return to my notes on primate taxonomy.
(I’m going to choose sleep over all nighter soon.)
I know [...]

Sad realization: I’m turning into one of those people who chronicles their boring lives (and not even in a funny, witty manner).
I discovered iChat vidchat last night and spent four to five hours talking to my best guy friend Johnathan who’s at SUNY Buffalo. I went back to Merion early from Britt’s birthday party with [...]

…. that was a terrible idea.
I don’t know why I always try to pull all-nighters because they’re so terrible for me.
I feel ridiculously ill at the moment– I could only take three bites of breakfast because the girl gave me gigantic portions of eggs, sausage, and hash browns. I guess I looked like I needed [...]
