Songs on Repeat
1.Tegan & Sara– Nineteen
I felt you in my life
Before I ever thought to
Feel the need to lay down
Beside you
And tell you
I feel you in my heart,
And I don’t even know you
And now we’re saying
Bye, bye, bye
2. Mumm-Ra–She’s Got You High
She’s got you high and you don’t even know yet
She’s got you high and [...]

I’m listening to my Glee soundtrack for the millionth time and I’m so overwhelmed by my endless love for this series.
Their covers of “Somebody to Love” and “You Can’t Always Get What You Want”= serious business.
I’m thrilled that the cast of Glee won the People’s Choice Best TV Comedy award. And I think it’s adorable [...]

So it’s Christmas break and I’ve been catching up with old friends.
I swear I have an sign above my head, visible to everyone but me, that says MAH COUNSELLING QUALIFICATION. LET ME SHOW YOU IT. They tell me their life stories, and their deepest secrets that they’ve never told anyone else ever.
As a result, I [...]

The intro (actually the entire backing track/instrumental) of Muse’s “Sing for Absolution” and Jay Chou’s “Drifting [Piao Yi]” are almost identical.
Interesting, since the two songs are of two completely different genres. It’s also a common riff– but still.

So right now I’m curled up in bed, trying my best to keep myself from falling apart because I feel like my heart is splintering apart.
Surprisingly enough, I’m not stressed out about academics, even though I think I should be (and so does my body).
My subconscious has a twisted sense of humor.
I had a dream [...]

I have a Pokédex app (in French!) on my iPod Touch.
On a scale of 1-Nerd, what does that make me?

Try to get as much work done as possible.(15 page paper! 5 page paper! Chinese homework!) This might be problematic because my cognitive ability has been massively compromised. Case in point: For the past hour, my thoughts have been wavering between “I have pretty hair” and “why are there penguins tap-dancing in my skull?” so [...]

I wish my life had an accompanying soundtrack of epic theme music.
Seriously, copying Chinese characters while listening to The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack (including “What’s This?” in Japanese) ? Awesome.
Although listening to The Dark Knight1 soundtrack while doing Chinese isn’t shabby either.
Note to self: TDK is also worth a re-watch, if not just for the [...]

Forget about a mental health day, I need a mental health week.
I think my brain has decided that blogging and writing medicore original fiction are to be outlets for my ~personal feelings~ which is probably a nice way of saying ‘I am stressed and have lots of work to do, blogging/writing is a form of [...]

We were talking about majors in Chinese drills today.
I sometimes do wonder why I’m not majoring in East Asian Studies (dongyashi).

I never get tired of this clip. Finn’s spazzy dancing! Kurt’s intense rocker face! Harry Shum Jr being awesome as Mike Chang! I’m also a big fan of the song”It’s My Life” (hi, please don’t judge me).
Okay, the leather jackets also help a lot.

Apropos nothing.
ME: … Wait, are you breaking up with me over Facebook?
ANDREA: I’m simplifying my life.
ME: … NOT EVEN THROUGH A TEXT MESSAGE, OVER FACEBOOK?
ANDREA: Well…
ME: … I’m breaking up with you first! *pause* See, I AM NOT IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU ANYMORE.
ANDREA: My facebook profile is now so much less cluttered! … But [...]

No matter how I look at it, this blog is dull and uninteresting and no where as fun as my previous one (Ohcloudyworld days, I miss thee!) .
I think it’s because I was too emotionally attached to my old one and simply deleting it in a panic was probably a pretty lousy idea.

My girlfriend is in love with Holden Caulfield
David Levithan
My girfriend is in love with Holden Caulfield
and it is driving me CRAZY. She has read that book
thirteen times, which is about eleven more times than
she’s bothered to read me. Everything she sees now
is PHONY. Starbucks is PHONY. Our teachers are
PHONY. Society is [...]

1. So, I think my mom is trying to make me spontaneously combust by feeding me yummy Chinese food. Well, food in general.
I mean, I have a pretty good appetite (product of parents’ owning a restaurant). However, I just had a large slice of pizza and a glass of orange juice. I turned around and [...]

To Whom it May Concern:
Thank you for using up the last of my favorite bodywash. I hope you develop a rash in unmentionable places.

On the bright side, it’s amazingly gorgeous out. Yesterday, I was feeling down because the weather had been unpleasant lately (I think I have a mild case of SAD ) but it’s [...]

My subject title? True story.
Got back from the Bi-Co Chinese New Year dinner thing at Haverford. There were dumplings and cute EAS profs being cute.
ME: *coughing fit, sneezes*
ANDREA: *staring*
ME: ?
ANDREA: … do you need a hug?
ME: … I’m afraid of getting you sick. :(
STORY OF MY LIFE, YOU GUYS.
My nose is stuffed up and runny, [...]

If you ask me what my favorite book was, I’d probably answer The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri because I love her prose and her characters and I wish I could write as well as her. However, if you mean book in a non-literary sense– I just stumbled upon a very tattered portion of a name [...]

Guys, this hits really close to home.
Hannah Upp, a Bryn Mawr 2007 grad is missing in NYC. If anyone knows anything, please contact the number listed.
This has been all over Facebook, my Bryn Mawr inbox, and it’s been mentioned in the news as well as Neil Gaiman’s blog. Hopefully, this means that word [...]
