things that make me happy

Sunshine.  Disney songs. OLIVIA Lufkin songs. Writing mediocre original fiction. Classical music. Cartwheels. Lame jokes. Zombie movies. MLIA. Good deeds. Peace/love/understanding. Acapella groups. girls night in town

November 8, 2009

I have blisters all over my feet due to the cheap rental skates. My leg muscles are already a bit sore (which can only mean that they’ll be screaming in agony tomorrow morning) but I don’t regret a second. I haven’t had this much fun for a while.
I went skating at the UPenn rink with [...]

that is the sound of my inner fourteen year old sobbing

June 23, 2009

Tiffany was playing something on YouTube. I thought it was a song I’ve never heard from Something Corporate or Jack’s Mannequin (I’m really familiar with Andrew McMahon’s voice).
Curious, I inquired as such.
…It was the Jonas Brothers.
Excuse me guys, ‘m going to go shoot myself in the face now.
P.S. The song in question is Black Keys, [...]

yes, my conversations with my sister are weird <3

June 2, 2009

So I’ve been tired and incredibly sleep deprived, yet unable to actually sleep since 7:30 AM.
I’ve been keeping Tiffany company with her Social Studies homework (since it’s about US History). Unfortunately, I am not at my best and articulate when I’m this tired. Thankfully, Tiffany is in the same state as me– so we’re both [...]

I love my days off

June 1, 2009

(Photo Credit: Phil Hawksworth on Flickr)
Happiness is a glass of chocolate soy milk, and two slices of toasted whole wheat bread with pseudo-butter (bread toasted just enough so the faux-butter melts).
Absolute perfection.
It’s my day off and I’ve been so lazy. I almost didn’t make the above deliciousness because it would mean having to hunt down [...]

I-fest

May 27, 2009

Sometimes I feel like I fail as an Ithacan1 because I’m not really that jazzed up about I-fest (Ithaca Festival to those of you not-in-the-know).
I mean, it happens… and that’s it, really.
I’m usually way more excited about the semi-annual Friends of the Library Booksale (which I’ve missed this year because I had to work weekends).
Other [...]

If college students are not supposed to work, I totally missed that memo.

This happened yesterday:
MOTHER to DAUGHTER: *after I pass out glasses ice-water, side-whisper* This is why going to college is important.
ME: … Would you ladies also like tea or soda?
MOTHER: *slightly taken back by me being, you know, fluent in English and me being able to hear her snide comment* Oh! Uh, we’ll just have water.
For [...]

NYC trip

May 20, 2009

Back from NYC where I visited my pseudo-grandmother, obtained delicious Almond Cookie ice cream (and Lychee Sorbet!), had almost authentic Chinese food, and listened to an audiobook of Kristin Chenowth’s memoir A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages during the long car ride back.
In case you’re curious, it was fantastic. I [...]

boring entry is boring

May 19, 2009

Delia and I spent time at Borders and had dinner at . I think Sushi Land has ruined me for life because the sushi at Kyushu was only “meh” and I longed for Crispy and Lion King rolls so hard. I would probably sell one of my kidneys for a lifetime supply of both.
Delia and [...]
